The Merry Thoughts
« on: June 15, 2016, 12:39:25 AM »
I've been a sucker for second wave goth shit for a long time, specifically for The Sisters of Mercy. A few years ago I was trolling around for stuff similar to their first album, and no matter how many bands or albums I listened to that tried to or claimed to capture that sound, none did. Apart from this band, they dig on early Sisters of Mercy perfectly. In fact, there were some claiming that Andrew Eldritch, principal songwriter and vocalist for TSOM, was using TMT as a studio project. This was fueled by the fact that the vocalist for The Merry Thoughts beared a striking similarity to Eldritch in both vocal and visual appearance

(andrew eldritch, top;; marvin arkham of TMT, bottom)

In any case, there's no telling whether that's true or not since The Merry Thoughts has been MIA since the year 2000 (and interestingly that's around the same time Andrew Eldritch got all weird about recording studio material okay i'll stop but it's a good theory). They leave behind a couple EP's and two studio albums.

Ya'll want downloads, lemme know. I got their discography up in here.
