Ordo Sakhna
« on: June 11, 2016, 05:34:48 PM »
In my quest for (good) Asian folk music I found these guys from Kyrgyzstan. Asians have a lot of garbage ethnic music so I was very pleasantly surprised with this. Probably among the best I'll get my hands on.

"Ordo Sakhna is a kyrgyz folk ethnographic theater created in 1999 in Kyrgyzstan. They play authentic kyrgyz instruments such as komuz, kyiak, chogoino, choor, sybyzgy, chopo-choor, kernei, surnai, temir komuz, jygach komuz, dobul bas, and eki-kylduu kyiak. All the musicians of Ordo Sakhna graduated from conservatoires, and many are laureates of regional and international festivals and contests."
