Head of the Demon
« on: June 05, 2016, 05:24:15 AM »
I picked up on this band from the metal tracking index RockBox. Judging from the way it was described, I was expecting something like a cross between Marduk and The Great Old Ones. I was wrong, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Occult and Lovecraft inspired psychedelic doom metal from Sweden, has members from Saturnalia Temple, Kaamos, and Ofermod. I haven't heard their debut, but their album from this year (Sathanas Trismegistos) is really great stuff and worth repeat listens.

Closer to Saturnalia Temple than L'ira del Baccano or other more "jammy" or stoner influenced bands. Still just as murky and hazy though, real archaic sounding.

Their debut is really good, imo.

this afternoon i've been posting videos of me playing all of the wax i bought today. i probably have about 30 records or so. i have a decently integrated system but i still have to walk like 5 feet to switch my audio from computer to turntable

oh shit on that note i'll start a thread tonight for people to show off collections. only vinyl though no faggy black tshirts. cassettes are cool though

anyways head of the dragon is pretty comfy. reminds me of samsara blues experiment a little
