Movies/Television/Bullshit
« on: June 11, 2016, 06:51:19 PM »
I watched a movie the other day called Nekromantik. Quite by accident too, as I was looking for another movie originally and the premise for this one sounded pretty gnarly:

Quote
A street sweeper who cleans up after grisly accidents brings home a full corpse for him and his wife to enjoy sexually, but is dismayed to see that his wife prefers the corpse over him.

It's an okay movie, I was expecting something more narrative driven but the VFX and the music makes up for the shortcummings. I'd rec it tp connoisseurs of "dark" cinema and art house flicks.

The soundtrack is A+++

I've always been interested by that sort of thing, but have seen very little of it.

I watch very little television lately.  My fiance and I have been almost religiously following The Walking Dead together since high school and I am enjoying Preacher so far.  Other than that I watch How I Met Your Mother reruns whenever they're on.  Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad are perpetually on my to-do list, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever actually get around to anything on that list.

I haven't been to the movies in a while either, come to think of it.  Of what I've seen recently, The Witch and 10 Cloverfield Lane are my favorites by far.

Also it's an older movie, but I saw An American Werewolf In London for the first time a few months ago and loved it.

I think this is the best thing I've ever read.

I just watched Aquarius on netflix. Agent Mulder is a cop looking into Manson who is played by the guy who did Renly on GoT. Also two people from Justified and the woman who did Ottos wife in SoA. Great cast and pretty good show so far other than the inescapable race mixing propaganda

There was an amusing documentary of its making going around. Corpse Fucking Art was the title I think.

apparently there's gonna be a tv or movie adaption (i can't remember which) of robert jordan's wheel of time series.

which no doubt is gonna be just as derivative and tragically dull as the books themselves.

I'm pretty sure I have a digital copy of Corpsefucking Art on a drive somewhere. I'll have a look.

And in the meantime, listen to this...

Finished watching the series Fringe on Netflix this morning. I liked it more than I thought I would. I really want to drop acid and tell a guard "These are not the droids you are looking for" like Dr. Bishop.

Lol, of course you did.  It's spooky commie revolution shit.

I dropped it after two episodes, but that's because I didn't know enough about hacking/programming to appreciate what was happening half of the time.  Plus his super edgy lone wolf social outcast who's actually really charming inner monologue got tiresome.

In addition to all the cringe, his character didn't feel genuine.  I can handle some heavy cringe if the character feels like a real relate-able person, but he lost me.
