WOE - New album
« on: February 01, 2017, 11:10:41 PM »
Dunno what the consensus is on these guys around here. I know a lot of people like to group them into the whole hipster scarf black metal thing, but their first and third albums are actually really good (especially the first album). Anyhow, they've got a new album, Hope Attrition, scheduled to drop on March 17th. Invisible Oranges just premiered a track (featuring Brooks Wilson of the band Crypt Sermon) from the record. Obviously it's more in line with their more recent material, and probably won't do anything to change the mind of detractors regarding their opinion of the band.

That being said, I think it's more in line with bands out of the Chicago and general mid-west scene (e.g. Wolvhammer) rather than bands like Deafheaven, etc.

You can check out the stream of the track (and more general background) here: http://www.invisibleoranges.com/woe-the-din-of-the-mourning/
