For those of us who were wondering what Incantation would sound like as a black metal band.

Makes sense when you realize it was started by former members of Incantation.  Unusually bass and drum heavy for black metal which might be why I love it so much.

They released a new album last month which I had the good fortune to find in a record store over the weekend and it makes me so fucking moist.  Enjoy.

I mean don't enjoy because that isn't trve.

I picked up one of their albums at "Sacrifice of the Nazarene Child Fest 2004" from a vendor on a merchant table wearing a jacket with hell's angels insignia.

It was awful and forgettable and it's the only metal CD I've ever lost due to neglect and indifference.

Revisiting them now because of your recommendation, I see that they have made great leaps in improvement and are now the incredible saviors of all grimness.

I also have the good fortune to have arrived late to everything and just know them for being the latter.

INORITE even in my nubile 18 year old blossoming grimness at the time I thought then "OK guys, we're trying a little too hard here."
It was mostly local bands and almost all of them sucked.

They still have the festival every year, headlining names usually evoke a similar sense of distasteful "PLEASE THINK I'M COOL". E.g. 'Demonic Christ'

The silliest named fest I played was "Building Temples From Death," but the lineup each year is very solid. Most just abbreviate it to BTFD fest and call it a day.
